Description
Power transmission lines, switchboards and busbars at distribution centers,
Insulating and carrying elements are called insulators.
Insulators used in energy transmission and distribution networks have two main tasks:
- Separating the conductors from the ground for electrical reasons
- Meeting the weight of the conductor and the additional loads coming from the conductors
Isolators are manufactured from porcelain and glass, which are resistant to electric current and resistant to hot and cold weather conditions. In addition, silicone and epoxy resin insulators are also used, but they are rarely used because they are expensive.
Insulators must also have good mechanical strength so that they can safely carry the loads that may occur with the conductors.

INSULATOR SECTIONS

1. Body: The part where the conductor and support anchor are attached.
2. Fixing slot: It is a flat or screwed part which is opened for isolator isolator to detect isolator.
3. Surge or skirt (dropper): One or more wings made to the body to increase the electrical resistance of the isolator.
4. Conductor housing: The isolator is a housing made for the installation of the conductors to be connected.
5. Fixing yoke (insulator yoke): It is an iron assembly for fixing the insulator on pole or console (traverse).
